Last Week saw the 161st Great Yorkshire Show take place and what a 3 days it was!
Slingsby was the talk of the show with our very own Big Wheel taking pride of place in the centre of the showground which could be seen for miles around. Alongside the wheel, we had our NEW Slingsby Bicycle giving out samples to passers by.
The main event for us was our Slingsby Gin Garden, situated alongside the Kuoni Fashion Pavillion showcasing some of Yorkshire's best up and coming designers. Show visitors could enjoy an array of Slingsby G&T's and cocktails from the Slingsby bar, relax under our beautiful pergola whilst taking in the atmosphere of the fashion show - what's not to love?
There were many other highlights this year including the very talented Lizzie Jones singing in the Main Ring, motorbike stunt riding team The Bolddog Lings who drew a huge crowd to the main ring each day with their performance. Not to mention the Fodder large scale installation on the Presidents Lawn by sculptor Emma Stothard. The Ripon Select Foods prestigious Cock O’ The North showjumping was the final competition in the Main Ring which ended in a win for jubilant Wetherby rider Richard Howley, riding Chinook.
Other highlights this year was the two-part TV series “Today at the Great Yorkshire Show” hosted by Anita Rani and Jules Hudson which broadcast the show into the homes of millions of TV viewers nationally on Channel 5.
